About Susan G. Komen Missouri

Susan G. Komen Missouri works year-round with a focus on fulfilling a promise:  To save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.

Susan G. Komen Missouri is an independent, local nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting breast cancer and to meeting the breast health needs of the women, men and families most at risk and most in need in our 38-county Missouri/Illinois service area.

Seventy-five percent of the organization's net proceeds stays in the local community to breast cancer screening, breast health education and patient navigation and support services to those who may not otherwise have access due to low income, lack of insurance or other barriers. The remaining 25 percent of net proceeds funds cutting-edge, global breast cancer research.

Komen Missouri Community Grant Funding

Susan G. Komen Missouri grants funding to local nonprofit organizations and governmental institutions for innovative, non-duplicative, evidence-based projects in the areas of breast cancer screening, breast health education and support programs not otherwise available to the medically underserved populations in our 38-county service area. Komen Missouri funding is limited and awarded through a competitive process. All grant applications are subjected to rigorous review by an independent panel of local professionals from varied backgrounds, including medicine, business, public health, and breast cancer survivors. This panel is responsible for making the final decisions regarding grant awards. Grant awards are for one year (April 1-March 31). Organizations receiving grant awards must re-apply each year.

A complete list of all of our grantees, funded since 1999, can be found here.
