Susan G. Komen® Missouri Announces the 2016 Class of Pink Tie Guys Eight Men Serve as Community Advocates for Breast Health ST. LOUIS – May 9, 2016 – Susan G. Komen® Missouri is proud to announce the 2016 class of Pink Tie Guys, a group of men in the community who are partners in the Komen promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever. “The Komen Missouri Pink Tie Guys bring a male voice to the urgency of finding cures for breast cancer,” said Helen Chesnut, executive director of Komen Missouri. “These men are leaders in their organizations and in our community who will serve as ambassadors for taking action for breast health and in the fight against breast cancer.” Together, the Pink Tie Guys and Komen Missouri work to inform, influence and inspire the community and raise funds to help end breast cancer. The 2016 Class of Komen St. Louis Pink Tie Guys includes: Mike Colombo – Award-winning journalist Damon U. Green – Community Events Coordinator, Missouri Foundation for Health Jeffrey Hallazgo, MD – Attending Physician, Urgent Care Centers, St. Anthony’s Medical Center and Emergency Department, Des Peres Hospital; On-Air Personality and Board of Directors Member, KDHX David Rath – Financial Advisor, Merrill Lynch Jeffrey Sass – Art Teacher, Rockwood School District Floyd Simms – President and CEO, Simms Building Group Frank Tucci – Financial Aid Counselor, Saint Louis University Mark Walshauser, MD, FACP – Physician, Cancer Care Specialists of Illinois and Medical Director, Oncology and Cancer Physician Liaison, St. Elizabeth’s Hospital A woman in the United States has a 1 in 8 lifetime risk of developing breast cancer. The eight men in this Pink Tie Guys class understand the importance of calling attention to the deadly disease and encouraging year-round action to benefit breast health. Each Pink Tie Guy has received a Komen-inspired necktie to wear throughout the year to raise awareness, encourage involvement and support efforts to fight breast cancer. The 2016 Komen Missouri Pink Tie Guys will be officially introduced at the 18th Annual Susan G. Komen Greater St. Louis Race for the Cure® on Saturday, June 11, in downtown St. Louis.
