Campaign Features

Where the Money Goes
Ever wonder where all that money raised at Komen St. Louis Affiliate events, like our signature fundraiser Race for the Cure, goes? We are going to tell you!
Currently, Komen St. Louis is funding 28 breast cancer specific programs in its 17-county service area. Every business day in the month of October, we will highlight these Komen-funded grantees on Facebook, giving you a look into the wonderful work that our community partners are doing in St. Louis.
75% of all money raised by the Komen St. Louis Affiliate stays in St. Louis to fund screening, treatment, education and research, while the remaining 25% goes to the national Susan G. Komen for the Cure Grants Program® to fund research.

What You Need to Know About Breast Cancer
By being a fan of the Komen St. Louis Affiliate on Facebook you will receive daily updates throughout the month of October that will give important breast cancer facts and figures, help to answer important questions about breast cancer as well as offer links to resources for those interested in learning the ABCs of the disease.

Word of the Week Contest
Every Monday morning in the month of October, we will post a word on our Facebook page. Then, it is up to you to use your creative mind and take a picture utilizing the word of the week! Submit your photo for the contest by emailing it, along with a brief description of the photo, to apollokoff@komenstlouis.org.
Photo submissions must be made by Noon on the Wednesday of that week. A committee of breast cancer survivors, active volunteers, and Affiliate staff will vote on the most creative picture and a winner will be announced on Friday!
Winners will receive prizes!

What's for Dinner?
Weekend recipe suggestions from our Cooking for the Cure Cookbook!
Every Thursday in the month of October, we will share three delicious, healthy and fun recipes from our Cooking for the Cure Cookbook! We encourage you to try the recipes over the weekend and then tell us all about it! Be on the lookout each week for mouth-watering meals! Email apollokoff@komenstlouis.org to share your cooking stories or to order your very own cookbook!

Month of Action Calendar
Download a Month of Action Calendar from Susan G. Komen for the Cure and learn how you can participate in National Breast Cancer Awareness Month all month long! (the .pdf takes a couple minutes to download, but is worth the wait!)

Save the Date. Mark it in Pink.
Wednesday, October 28th declared official St. Louis Passionately Pink for the Cure Day! Our goal is to have as many people participate as possible!

Throughout the month, look for ideas on our Facebook page on how you can recruit your office and co-workers, family, friends and everyone you know to participate in this city-wide event!

It is eerily close to Halloween so maybe a pink costume party for your office or that Friday night gathering at home. Or try a pumpkin carving contest. There are hundreds of different ways to participate so get your thinking caps on, set your goals, build your team/event and send in the donations.

Visit http://www.passionatelypink.org/ for more ideas.

Don’t forget the camera. We want to see your photos. Send Passionately Pink for the Cure photos to apollokoff@komenstlouis.org.
